Science & Solutions: Creatively apply science and technology to resolve fundamental disruptions from global climate change and natural resource use.
Capacity Building: Provide training, science-based technical assistance, and capacity building to post-conflict, transitional, and developing countries to better prepare for and adapt to environmental and natural resource changes with the goal to build the environmental knowledge capital of people, institutions, and governments. Assist governments in participating and implementing international environmental agreements and negotiations and take advantage of financial incentives for conservation.
Climate Change and Carbon Services: Connect supply and demand for ecosystem services and products from the developing world for carbon trading , provide auditing services for independent policing, monitoring and evaluation of carbon products to prevent “leakage”.
Risk Assessment: Create enhanced science-based decision tools, analytical models, and programmatic solutions to assess investment risk from existing and future environmental problems, including global climate disruption.
Adaptation to Climate Change: Assist governments and donors in preparing for future global climate disruption through changes in financial, regulatory, biological, and physical infrastructure and strategy.
Science Diplomacy & Conservation: Promote effective linkages between environment, security, and sustainable development policies, and seek to build international understanding through active science-based diplomacy.
Legal, Policy, and Institutional Development: Contribute to the development of a more effective system of environmental laws and self-governance in countries, including assisting countries with developing conservation institutions and policies.
